Obituary of Miss Barbara Hindes

Miss Barbara Hindes, age 75, of Johnstown, passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 18, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. She was born September 22, 1941 in Gloversville, the daughter of Cecil and Ann DiMaio Hindes. Barbara was a fun-loving jokester who was a passionate key board player and an avid New York Yankee fan. She was a "One of a Kind". She loved all of her family members unconditionally and especially cherished her relationship with her cousin Ray and his family. Barbara lived with her Lexington family for many years making lasting friendships wherever she went. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Her cats were special to her and she had a fondness for all animals. Barbara's big heart will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by many cousins including Ray Hindes and his wife Yvonne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by parents, also by her brothers Richard, Robert and George Hindes. A Prayer Service will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 22 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Interment will take place at Mayfiled Union Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Lexington Foundation, 465 North Perry St; Johnstown, NY 12095.
