Obituary of Helen M. Kiuber

Helen M. Kiuber, 87, passed away Saturday evening at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on June 5, 1930, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Raila Kiuber, she lived in Amsterdam her entire life. Helen worked as a computer technician for the New York State Dept. of Law before she retired in 1994. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary's Church. She belonged to the former St. Casimir's Church Living Rosary Society, Queen of Martyrs Court Catholic Daughters of the Americas , The Secular Franciscans and Padre Pio Prayer Group of St. Michael's Church and the Kateri Tekakwitha League. Helen had a very special and deep devotion to St. Kateri. She also travelled extensively in the US and abroad. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Clarence and his wife Florence Kiuber. She leaves her dear friend and companion, Medalyn Gonzales and family of Amsterdam. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church, 156 East Main Street by the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis. Friends are invited and may call on Friday prior to the mass at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Mary's Church from 9:30 am until 10:45am. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or the National Shrine of North American Martyrs, Auriesville.
