Obituary of William A. Janeski
William A. Janeski , 55 , of Amsterdam , died unexpectedly Thursday August 24, 2017.
Bill was born on October 12, 1961 to William J. and Frances Cavaliere Janeski. He was educated in Amsterdam and was a 1979 graduate of Amsterdam High School. On September 6, 1987 he married the love of his life Shelly Conrad Janeski.
As a young boy, Bill was active in sports and the Boy Scouts. He was also an altar server for many years at St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam. He was a current member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge #101 in Amsterdam. He enjoyed gardening and working on his yard. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to his annual week in Maine to hunt with the boys. Bill's favorite time of year was undoubtedly summer, spending time with the boating community on the Great Sacandaga Lake. Bill has been boating on the lake for over 40 years. He was a friend to all who had the privilege of meeting him and was always there to lend a helping hand. He has left a void that will be hard to fill.
For over 30 years Bill worked at Quad Graphics in Saratoga. He was currently employed as Vice President of Production/Manufacturing at Asante Sign Group in Gloversville, NY formerly known as Kennyetto Graphics.
Bill was predeceased by his dad William, his mother-in-law, Patricia Conrad, his sister-in-law, Christina Majewski and brother-in-law, Joseph P. O'Connor.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 30 years Shelly A. Janeski . His loving mother, Frances C. Janeski. Brother, David (Nicki) Janeski. Sisters, Karen (Charles) Myers, Joanne (Jeff) Rusnica, Janet (Neil) Buckley and Peggy O'Connor. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Arthur C. Conrad and brother- in- law, Arthur M. Conrad.
He was a loving uncle to his 17 nieces and nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several cousins and his sweet dog Willow.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 11:15 A.M. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam with Father Jeffrey M. L'Arche, M.S. as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday August 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund, 156 East Main St., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
