Obituary of Jose Perez

Jose Perez Sr., 62, former resident of Eagle Street, Amsterdam, passed away on Tuesday September 5th, 2017 at the Pathway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Niskayuna where he has been a resident for 2 years. Born September 24, 1954 in Barahona, Dominican Republic he was the son of the late Narciso Perez and Felinarda Feliz Perez. He attended schools in the Dominican Republic then relocated to Amsterdam with his family. He was employed as a machine operator and supervisor for the former Adirondack Knitting Mill in Amsterdam for a number of years. Jose's passions were electronics; he was always up to date with the latest advancements in technology. He also had a deep love and appreciation for Spanish music particularly Bachata. He was a happy man social man who loved his family. He is survived his loving family, three sons, Jose Perez, Jr. of Broadalbin, Anthony Perez and Jonathan Perez both of Amsterdam; a brother, Enrique Perez of the Dominican Republic; three sisters, Delia Santiago of Amsterdam, Bertha Perez of the Dominican Republic and Darcy Graveley of Amsterdam; his close nieces, Elisa Serrano, Yohana Almonte, and Dennis Perez; and his close nephews, Daniel and William Graveley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Jose is predeceased by his loving parents and his brother Prajido Perez. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 8th, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Fr. Jeffery L'Arche presiding. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM - 12 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
