Ken, what a tragedy, you were such an inspiration to anyone who's path you crossed especially mine! Eight days later and I'm still in shock. I can't believe you are really gone. My heart is crushed, especially for Parker and Peyton. The three of you had a bond that was so special and so strong, as it should be. I'm so blessed that we got to have a lovely conversation in May when I saw you at Stewarts. I'll never forget our time together, with you, with the family and all of those football games! I'll never forget the night you dedicated a song on the radio, The boys of Fall, for your two boys! It is with profound sadness that I have to say goodbye to a dear, sweet friend. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ken for many years from St Mary's Hospital where I experienced his compassionate and heartfelt care the many times he helped my son with various procedures, especially PICC line insertions. Ken's big, bright smile and reassuring hugs were the best! He was the epitome of what an RN should be. I will forever miss him and feel that Heaven has gained one very special Angel.
I send my deepest sympathy to his beautiful sons. He spoke so highly of you both! I hope they remember their Dad's influence and legacy will always be with them, in the light in their eyes when they talk about all the good times with him. Ken's short stay here on Earth touched many lives in unforgettable ways.
I hope Peyton and Parker will be comforted and find strength in the days and weeks ahead. Your Dad will be with you forever. Bless you both!

Ken was a wonderful nurse. My daughter suffers with severe, continuous, Migraine headaches that when they become overwhelming and unbearable. It's at this point that she has to go to the ER for help. Ken was the one bright star for her, not only because he always got the IV in successfully, but more importantly, was one who "got it". He knew she was in incredible pain, but really believed that she wasn't someone looking for drugs. He was so kind and even seeing her elsewhere, he always had a big smile and hug for her. We will miss him! God bless you Ken.

Ken,
It seems just like yesterday you and Peyton came to visit my wife, daughter and I in Florida for Xmas last year. It was a great time and memory for sure. I will NEVER forget the Friday nights when we would order pizza, chicken wings and bread sticks, go for a Harley ride and then come back home and play rock band on the wii with Peyton and Parker and rock out to the Beastie Boys until like 11 o'clock at night. Ken, you were such a cool guy that I looked up to, gave me great advice for wanting more for myself in life and I know you always had my back for anything. Your an amazing guy, awesome father and truly an inspiration to many people. Fly high man. You will always be in my heart and just know I will miss you tremendously. RIP Ken

Ken and I only met a few times when I began working at St. Mary's. I was a brand new nurse and he offered alot of advice. I was very grateful and I'm sad that I will no longer have a chance to pick his brain.

My prayers go out to Ken's family, especially his boys. His boys were his world. I graduated with Ken in 2000 from nursing school. He was a very special man with a heart of gold that was loved by everyone he knew. I can only hope to be half the nurse he was. Parker and Peyton were his world and always will be.
