Obituary of Victor I. Tubbs

Victor I. Tubbs, 66, of Johnstown, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his home. He was born July 25, 1951 in Speculator, the son of George and Jessie Blowers Tubbs. He was a 1970 graduate of Fonda High School. He was employed as a custodian by Gloversville Enlarged School District for 37 years until his retirement in 2009. Victor was a member Pine Tree Rifle Club and Johnstown Moose. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and NASCAR fan. He is survived by his wife, Debra J. Brown Tubbs, whom he married on September 9, 1972; a sister, Eliza Harrington of Gloversville; two brothers-in-law, Charles Brown (Julie) and Eric Brown (Arlene); several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved pet dog Abbey Linn. Victor was predeceased by his parents, as well as by a brother, Nathan Tubbs. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7pm Thursday, September 21 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10am Friday with the Rev. Dr. RW Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Johnstown Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Regional Animal Shelter, P.O.
