Obituary of Margaret M. Leackfeldt

Mrs. Margaret M. MacDougall Leackfeldt, 93, of Pattersonville, NY passed away Monday morning September 18, 2017 at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. She was born in Pattersonville, NY on April 23, 1924 a daughter of the late Donald R. and Edith Dougall MacDougall. She was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Woestina Central School. She went on to graduate from Oneonta Teachers College. Margaret worked as a School Teacher for Voorheesville Central School and Bainbridge Central School. She was a member of Christ's Church of the Hills in Mariaville, NY. Her loving family includes her husband Walter Leackfeldt whom she was married to for over 60 years until his passing on December 27, 2008. They were married on July 10, 1948. Survivors include her son, Keith Leackfeldt of Fairport, NY, her grandchildren, Taylor and Paige Leackfeldt, sisters-in-law, Katherine Leackfeldt and Francine Leackfeldt. Nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Kate Leackfeldt recently on November 20, 2016. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM on Friday September 29, 2017 at Christ's Church of the Hills, 4809 Mariaville Road, Schenectady, NY 12306. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to services on Friday from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM at the Church. Interment will be in Van Vechten Cemetery in Pattersonville, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to Christ's Church of the Hills.
