Obituary of Florence Marie Countryman
Florence Marie Countryman, 78, formerly of Sprakers, NY, beloved wife of Robert Countryman, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at River Ridge Nursing Center, Amsterdam.
She was born on August 11, 1939 in Cobleskill, NY. Florence attended Canajoharie Central School and was married to Robert Countryman on February 26, 1956, and the two have shared a loving and devoted union of 61 years together.
She worked for a time at the White Mop Wringer Co. in Fultonville, NY
She leaves behind three daughter; Deborah Rickard (Ronald), Theresa Fitzgerald, and Cheryl Wagner, along with seven beloved grandchildren; Ronald Rickard Jr. (Bethany), Angela Rickard (Mike Mckie), Kimberly Rickard, Zachary Wagner (Brittany), Jeremy Wagner (Jessica Nellis), Robert Fitzgerald (Carlie) and Daniel Fitzgerald (Joanna), in conjunction eight great-grandchildren; Gavin and Cullen Rickard, Nate, AJ, Kamron and Zane Mckie, Hannah, Emerson, Abigail Wagner. Florence is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Eleanor Burke, Janet Newkirk (Chuck), Barbra Clancy and Roger Gordon (Linda) many nieces and nephews. Florence was an avid VFW Ladies Auxiliary member for many years. Her favorite pastimes were sitting by the fire, reading novels, and enjoying her family
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday September 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners, Sprakers, NY with Pastor Brett Popp presiding. Interment will follow in Carlisle Rural Cemetery, Sprakers, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jackson and Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY 12072.
