Obituary of Bernard Jock

Mr. Bernard H. "Bob" Jock, 87, of Hagaman, passed away Wednesday September 27, 2017 at his home surround by his loving wife and family. Born in Bombay, NY on November 11, 1929 a son of the late Francis and Eva Tuper Jock. He was a lifelong Hagaman resident and attended Hagaman Schools. Bob was employed by Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam for over 20 years. He last was employed as an Installer for Roland J. Down Heating and Air Conditioning of Scotia for over 25 years retiring in 1992. He spent much of his time traveling to nursing homes and playing the piano for the residents. It truly was a passion of his. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at Wendy's and burger King in Amsterdam. Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife on many different vacations that were afforded to him by the Roland J. Down family. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 67 years June Dorothy Covell Jock whom he married on November 24, 1948. In addition to his wife survivors include his children, Michele (Henry) Cetnar of Hagaman and David (Mary) Jock of Gloversville. Three grandchildren, Jacqueleen (Tony) Priamo, Joseph (Jen) Cetnar and Jeffrey (Melissa) Cetnar. A sister, Helen Nadler of Hagaman, NY. Seven great-grandchildren, nieces nephews and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by a twin sister, Blanche Haight and her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer Jock Javarone who passed away on April 11, 2016. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 7:00PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Richard Wilkinson presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday prior to the Memorial service from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny Corners Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010, The American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Hagaman Vol. Fire Department, 126 S. Pawling St., Hagaman, NY 12086. .
