To Benny's family,
It saddens me to think that I will not see Benny in the familiar venues that we shared over the many years of life history. I was younger, but as a young teen he and I shared some Saturdays riding horses across the fields of the Daly Bartyzel lands connecting to the Sanford property. This was long before any of the shopping centers were thought of. We cleaned the horse stalls early in the morning and then had the fun of riding. The horses were owned by the late Nicholas Robilotto who was then president of Teamsters Local 294. My dad knew Benny's dad as they were pals of the old East End gang of friends. Later I worked at Boss Linco Lines for a couple of summers and Benny and I saw one another there. When I became a member of the YMCA I found out what a mentor Benny was to many of the younger Y members over the many years. Old photos of events at the Y show him lifting in the weight room during competitions and you can see all eyes were on him. I have served as an usher for first St. Michael's parish and then Mount Carmel since 1970. In the years since St. Michael's was closed we saw each other quite often when Benny served as an acolyte or Eucharistic Minister. Even when he was not scheduled to serve he would often offer to help as an usher if we were short handed and many times I was so happy to see him come into the church. I am glad to have had Benny as my friend. Remembering these memories has helped me see what a good man of service in the community he was. I see that his mentoring for his friends continues forward even now.
Sincerely,
Joseph Inglese

There is a lot I can say about Ben. What immediately comes to mind is that he was a dedicated family man. A devout christen. A gentleman. A patient man who was grateful for what he had, and because of that believed he had a responsibility to lend his ear and his hand to the less fortunate. His service today at Mount Carmel whereby so many friends came to pay their respects is heartfelt and proof that he touched so many lives. He was a man that I admired greatly. I don't say these things because Ben was my father in law, I say these things because he easily won my friendship and respected it, and for that I will be forever grateful. Rest in peace my friend. Until we meet again.

It was a wonderful gift to have known this wonderful man. His passing leaves us all a little more diminished...but his life and memory will continue to build each of us up. I will always remember Ben...as a friend and a patient...and challenge all of us to keep those memories close to our hearts.
Anita, Ron, Ann-Marie...please know of our love and support for each of you, and your families, at this difficult time.

Dear Anita,
Losing someone we love is not easy. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Benny was calm and gracious, he never complained and accepted his fate because he believed in the Lord and he knew he was going to be with the Lord after passing. During a visit at your home as I was leaving Benny said to me "we'll see each other again soon in a different place".
We share comfort knowing Benny is no longer suffering and is at peace with God.
While there is no way we can feel your pain, we do feel your loss. Benny was well liked and respected, he had many friends. He was a good father, caring husband and the love of your life. I remember back in the day when you two were dating. He didn't change, he just mellowed with age… like a fine wine. Benny will be missed but not forgotten.
Remember that we love you,
Linda and Gary Rossi

Dear Anita, Ron and Anne Marie....Please accept my condolences for your loss! I was reflecting the other day on his passing and it occurred to me that from our days at East Main Street School, through our years with the Teamsters and over the course of the last 20 years or more during which he had a pretty rough time of it health wise....I can honestly say that I just don't recall a time when he didn't smile. What was not to like about Benny? A gentleman in the truest sense of the word! He'll be missed by all whose lives he touched! Be well........Biv

I'm very sorry to hear of Benny's death. I only had the pleasure of working with Bennt for a few days at ABF trucking. I forever will remember his consideration when he heard my wife and, I had 2 small daughters during the Cabbage Patch Doll craze. He offered to get 2 dolls from Coleco for them, and they still have them to this day. I am sorry for your loss, and not knowing Benny very well, for his tribute, I see he was even a better than I knew.
