Obituary of Rene Serrano

Rene Serrano, 77, passed away October 2, 2017 at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. He was born June 29, 1940 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, and was the son of the late Julian and America Serrano. Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, and Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam NY 12010, on Friday October 6, 2017 from 11:00 AM, with a funeral service to take place at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Immediately following services, a burial in the family plot of Fairview Cemetery will take place. Rene is survived by his wife Medaly Cedeno, two daughters Lynnette (Edgar) Serrano-Irizarry of Amsterdam, and Yesnith (Troy) Edwards of Halfmoon. One son, Rene Omar Serrano of Amsterdam. Two grandchildren, Jailene and Jael Irizarry. Two brothers, Julio (Sara) Serrano of Amsterdam, and Samuel Serrano of Puerto Rico. One sister, Aida Serrano of Puerto Rico. A niece Daphne Moore of Amsterdam, and a host of other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Rene is predeceased by two sisters Luz Maria Serrano and Iris Serrano.
