Obituary of Francisco J. Silveira
Francisco J. "Frank" Silveira, age 52, of Gloversville, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA.
He was born July 13, 1965 in Pico, Portugal, the son of Jose and Maria Silva Silveira. He came with his family to this country at the age 12, settling in Rhode Island. He moved to Gloversville 26 years ago.
Frank served in the US Army from 1986 to 1989. He was employed until his illness by the Dept. of Homeland Security in Albany.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Whitman Silveira; two sons, Francisco J. "Frank" Silveira Jr. (Lauren) and Donald J. Silveira, all of Gloversville; his parents, Jose and Maria Silveira of W. Warwick, RI; three brothers, Manny H. Silveira (Tina) of Oak Harbor, WA, John A. Silveira of W. Warwick, RI and Michael Silveira (Marissa) of Wichata, KS; sister-in-law, Toni Raimondo Desimone (Jim) and their son and daughter; and grandson, Declan R. Silveira of Gloversville; as well as two nephews and two nieces.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10am to 12pm Saturday, October 14 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, NY. A private celebration of Frank's life will take place at a later time at the convenience of the family.
