Obituary of Helen V. Druziak

Mrs. Helen V. Druziak, 92, formerly of Brookside Avenue, Amsterdam died peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017 following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 28, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Degutis. A lifelong area resident, Helen attended local schools and was employed by the New York State Department of Unemployment based in Amsterdam. She was a parishioner of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman. Helen had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She took great pride in her home, spent her winters in Florida and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leo; and her brother, Anthony Degutis. Survivors include her two sons, Mark Druziak and his wife Joanne of Fairport, NY and David Druziak and his wife Susan of Hagaman, NY; five grandchildren, Kelly Baker, Elizabeth Druziak, Andrew Druziak, Bennett Amberger and Robert Amberger; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Degutis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11 o'clock at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 51 N. Pawling Street, Hagaman, NY 12086 with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
