Obituary of Thomas H. Winney
Thomas H. Winney, 70, of Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility has gone to his eternal rest on Saturday October 28th, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Born on December 2nd, 1946, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Thelma Stark and Henry Winney. Thomas graduated from Broadalbin High School. He bravely enlisted into the U.S Navy in 1965, where he courageously served our country during the Vietnam war. He married the love of his life Michele Capparello on February 16th, 1979. It was a beautiful marriage that lasted until his passing. He was a true sports enthusiast who was particularly fond of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox. Thomas enjoyed camping, he loved fishing, hunting, and being in the outdoors. He was an avid Nascar fan and participated as an announcer for local speedways during their dirt racing. He was an outgoing friendly individual who was very family orientated. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife Michele Winney. His children, Carrie Winney, Matthew (Michelle) Winney, Shane (Judi) Douglas, Thomas (Michelle) Winney, Henry Winney, Thomas 'T.J"(Jennifer) Valadez, and Julie Correra. As well as his brother, Robert (Mary Beth) Winney. Thomas is also survived by many of his dear grandchildren and several great grandchildren, as well as many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Thomas is predeceased by his parents Henry and Thelma Winney.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful staff on the second floor at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility for their kindness and compassion while Thomas resided there.
In accordance with Thomas's wishes, there will be no formal services taking place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
