Obituary of Joseph LaConte

Mr. Joseph "Joe" LaConte, Jr., 55, of Amsterdam, passed away Monday October 30, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany with his loving family at his side. Born on August 31, 1962 a son of the late Joseph and Rose Tampani Laconte Sr., He was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and attended Amsterdam schools. Joe was currently employed as a cook for Hillcrest Spring Assisted Living Facility in Amsterdam. He enjoyed watching his grandson, Tyrell Douglas, play sports and spending time with his loving family. He was an avid NY Giants and horse racing fan. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith and a communicant of the former St. Michael the Archangel Church in Amsterdam. Joseph married Susan Merriam LaConte on January 3, 2004. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his daughter, Melissa Lasher of Amsterdam. His dear brother, Robert (Jennifer) LaConte of Amsterdam. His Grandson who is also his Godson, Tyrell Douglas of Amsterdam. Many cousins and friends also survive. Mr. LaConte was predeceased by his parents and two dear brothers, Vincent LaConte and Ronald LaConte. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 11:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Father Lawrence J. Decker presiding. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday November 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
