Obituary of Francis L. Paul

Mr. Francis L. Paul, age 86, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at The Fulton Center, Gloversville. He was born June 12, 1931 in Broadalbin, the son of Leon and Alice Johnson Paul. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He owned and operated a gas station on the corner of E. Pine St. and S. Main St. in Gloversville. He was later employed as a boat mechanic by Harrington's Marina, Jim Chambers Marine and Bobilin's Marina of Mayfield. After retirement he was employed at Napa Auto Parts in Gloversville and Johnstown, where he worked well into his early 80's. Francis was a former member of the Moose and Foresters lodges. He enjoyed fishing and camping at Lasky's Beach and Peck's Lake. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary C. Johnson Paul; a son, David Paul; his parents; as well as his brothers Everett and Harry. Francis is survived by a niece, Susan D. Duesler (Ivan) of St. Johnsville; nephews, Perry Paul (Rebecca) and Everett Paul of Gloversville; daughter-in-law, Denise Fuller Reed of Altamont (Brian); and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Dorothy Johnson of Johnstown and sister-in-law Diane Johnson Bauer of Johnstown. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, Wednesday, November 8 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 1:00PM with the Rev. Moon Ho Kim officiating. Interment will follow at King Northampton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Leatherstocking Honor Flight P.O. Box 621 Cobleskill, NY 12043.
