To Pete's Family, My deepest sympathy to all of Pete's family. I worked with Pete many years when he was a demonstrator with Price Chopper. What a great salesman! Loved people and his work! Mrs. Duchessi, Linda & Peter, Peter & Nancy: So sorry to hear that Mr. Duchessi passed away. What a wonderful, long life for a man who truly did bring a smile to everyone's face. I have such fond memories of walking by Duchessi's Importing on Main St. after school along with our friends, and the "Duke" would always greet me as "capirosso" (redhead) along with a huge smile. With my Irish heritage, I didn't know much Italian but his fond greeting always made me feel special. I can still smell all the cheese hanging in the store!!! I'm sorry that I'm unable to attend his services today and tomorrow. On a very recent trip home to Amsterdam, my brother Kevin and I drove around the city looking at places from our past. It made me sad to see what has become of our long ago homes on Glen Avenue and Union St. My sincere condolences to you all. May God bless you and keep you in the warmth of his heart.

Linda, Peter and family,
So sad to lose such a wonderful person but his time had come. He was always so jolly weather it was when we stopped by Duchessi's Market after school or fixing some treat at Price Chopper in his retirement.
Your dad will be in a better place and having a grand time visiting with friends and family from long ago. My sincerest sympathy goes out to you all at this time.

I'm so sorry for your loss :'( helping to take care of Pete the last year and 1/2 had been a pleasure for me, he had amazing stories to tell me every morning while he was getting ready even a few good ones about my grandpa when he was a kid. I loved Peter like a grandfather and i will hold this last year and 1/2 forever in my heart. He was truly an amazing man.

We wouldn't know where to start as far as memories are concerned. I've been a neighbor of your family since I was 8 or 9 years old and Frank and I and our girls have been next door neighbors since 1977. We have more stories and fond memories than I can fit into this small space. We shared mutual respect for each other's properties and we helped each other in times of need. Pete and Madeline have been the best neighbors anyone could ever hope to have. I've attached a photo which warms my heart and I hope it does yours. This was taken after an afternoon of yard work and they were enjoying the warmth of Spring sun. Never were they far apart from each other.
Thank you Pete and Madeline for the wonderful memories. You're always in our hearts.
