Obituary of Virginia M. Rogers
Virginia M. White Rogers, of Midline Rd., Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday morning November 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Virginia was born on May 3, 1935 in the Richmond, Virginia area, a daughter of the late Edward and Mae Rivers White. She attended schools in Virginia before coming to the Amsterdam area.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and took wonderful care of her family.
She was a communicant of the former St. Casmir's Roman Catholic Church and St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking pies.
Virginia married Alfred W. Rogers on August 1, 1955. He passed away on December 15, 2014. Survivors include her son, William S. Rogers of Amsterdam. Two sisters, Mabel Nicholson and Edith Lafoon both of Virginia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday November 20, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with Father O. Robert DeMartinis as celebrant . Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery (St. Ann Chapel), Amsterdam. Calling hours are Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam.
