Obituary of Michael A. DeLuke

Michael A. DeLuke, 29, of Magnolia, T.X., formally of Gloversville, N.Y., has passed away tragically on Saturday, November 25th, 2017. Born on April 24th, 1988, he was the son of Lynn M. Posson and Robert J. DeLuke Jr. A graduate of Gloversville High School Class of 2006, Michael went on to attend Fulton Montgomery Community College and graduated in 2009. Michael graduated not only with honors from Mohawk Valley Community College, but as their 2011 valedictorian earning his degree in sign language. He went on to obtain a job at Wildwood Programs and for Interekef's sign language services. In August of 2015 Michael relocated to the Texas area where he remained until his passing. He worked as a gymnastics instructor and personal coach for ASI Gymnastics in Magnolia, T.X. It was a job he was very proud of and enjoyed very much. Michael touched the lives of so many people. He could light up a room with his infectious smile. He was loved and adored by his family, friends, students, and community. Michael was loving, compassionate, artistic, musically talented, and a lover of cats. He had a passion for gymnastics, cheer competitions, and competed nationally for many years. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him. To quote a dear friend of Mike's "No matter how dark the situation was, he was the brightest light there." Michael is survived by his beloved mother Lynn DeLuke of Gloversville, NY; his father Robert J. DeLuke Jr. of Saratoga Springs, NY; his brother Robert DeLuke III of Gloversville, NY; his uncles, Paul (Denise) Posson, Robert Posson Jr., Mark (Judy) DeLuke, Keith DeLuke, and Matt (Trish) DeLuke; his aunts, Janice (Tim) Lindsay, Donna DeLuke, and Maureen DeLuke. Many more loving family also survive. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation for Michael on Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 1pm - 3pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 15 Fremont St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
