Obituary of Gail L. Clute
Gail L. Clute, 59, of Gloversville, NY died peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Gloversville, NY on September 7, 1958 she was the daughter of Grace Ward Clute and the late Clarence Clute.
A lifelong area resident, Gail was a graduate of Mayfield High School. She then went on to attend The State Universities of New York at Oswego and Albany obtaining her Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences. She was employed for 27 years for Lexington as Behavioral Specialist. A dedicated employee, Gail loved her job and everyone she worked with. She was always willing to help in a time of need and to go the extra mile to make a difference. Gail was also committed to helping others, by being an active donor with the American Red Cross and volunteering her time with local walks and the Relay for Life. Gail also loved to be outdoors to go hiking, antiquing or going to garage sales.
Survivors include her mother, Grace; her longtime companion, Dennis LaFountain; her daughter, Kasey LaFountain and her fiancé Michael Moore of Gloversville, NY; a step grandson, Blake Moore; her siblings, Wendy Zimmerman and her husband Mark of Mayfield, and John Clute and his wife Rose of Gloversville; four nieces and nephews, Matthew Zimmerman, Renee Zimmerman, Jared Zimmerman and Charles DeVoe; and many friends.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 6p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Calling hours will be held prior to the service beginning at 4p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
