Obituary of Miguel A. Fallas

Mr. Miguel A. Fallas, 71, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 26, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital with his loving family at his side. Miguel was born July 29, 1946 in Alajuela, Costa Rica, the son of the late Miguel and Alicia Perez Fallas. He was educated in The Institute of Alajuela High-School and came to Amsterdam in 1968. Miguel will be sincerely missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him. He was employed for over 32 years as a machinist for the General Electric Company in Schenectady before retiring in 2008. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith. He enjoyed playing, watching Soccer and spending quality time with his family. Including taking long scenic drives through-out New York. He married Sonia Araya Fallas on February 3, 1971. In addition to his loving wife survivors include his three children, Rudy D. (Jaclyn) Fallas, Debby Fallas, and James (Amy) Fallas all of Amsterdam. Many brothers and sisters who reside in Costa Rica. His cherished grandchildren, Kylie, Beliza, Brody, Tatianna, James, Renzo, Kron, Shawn and Mia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Jeffrey M. L'Arche, M.S. presiding. Cremation will take place in Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday December 2, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral service.
