Obituary of Dennis W. Maaser

Mr. Dennis W. Maaser, 71, of Fort Plain, passed away Saturday December 2, 2017 at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, NY with his loving family at his side. Born on August 19, 1946 in Little Falls, NY a son of the late Karl and Alberta Swartz Maaser, He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1964 graduate of Ft. Plain High School. He went on to attend Minor Institute Veterinary school. Mr. Maaser was a family farmer and was the owner/operator of the former Denalee Farms in Fort Plain retiring from the business in 2003. He was of the Lutheran Faith. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, fishing and camping. He also was an avid baseball fan and sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He is survived by his wife Cathy E. (Primer) Maaser of Ft. Plain, whom he married on July 26, 1969. In addition to his loving wife survivors include, his two children, Randy (Stacey Florian) Maaser of Little Falls, NY and Julie (Gerald) Crouse of Ft. Plain, NY. One sister, Tana Young of St. Johnsville, NY. Four grandchildren, Tyler, Evan, Erin and Alexis. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place in Vale Cemetery Crematorium in Schenectady.
