Obituary of Marie L. Pratt

Mrs. Marie L. Pratt, 95, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Heritage Village Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility, Gerry, NY. She was born April 22, 1922 in Elton, NY, the daughter of Benjamin and Blanche (Barney) Leonard. Marie worked in the administrative field for a number of employers through the years, including as a bookkeeper for Binghamton Precision Tool in Kirkwood, NY, a guidance department secretary in the Watertown NY School system, and as the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in the Herkimer NY Central School System. She is survived by a son, Leonard Pratt and his wife Mary of Lockport; a brother, Rev. Richard Leonard and his wife Ruth, recently of Gerry and formerly of Mayfield; two grandchildren, Lindsey Valik of Johnstown and Rob Pratt of Katy, TX; three step-grandchildren, Charlotte Guyton, Cady Guyton and Scott Guyton; four great-grandchildren, Talia Anderson, Emma Valik, Aiden Valik and Isaac Pratt; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, The Rev. Calvin G. Pratt. They were married March 27, 1948. He died January 20, 2005. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Betty Ginter and Jeanette Stiles. A springtime graveside service will take place in 2018 at King Cemetery, Town of Northampton, NY.
