Obituary of Ralph J. Sasso

Ralph J. Sasso Jr. age 87 yrs. of Amsterdam, NY passed away December 4, 2017 at the Wilkinson Rehabilitation Health Care Facility. He was born April 12, 1930 in Amsterdam, NY he is the son of the late Ralph J. and Anna M. (Morrone) Sasso. Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, and Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Thursday December 7, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM. A Service at the funeral home will take place Friday December 8, 2017 at 10 AM with Fr. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating. Private Burial will follow in the family plot next to his late wife Tina (Petraccione) Sasso at St. Michael's Cemetery. Ralph is survived by his daughters Linda (Tim) Ott of Perth, Diane (Joseph) DeFelice of Mytle Beach SC, Terri (Nicholas) Lalla of Amsterdam. Five grandchildren Jessica (Torani) Dutcher, Michael Ott, Rebecca (Tim) Cornell, Kristina Lalla, and Courtney Lalla. Two great grandchildren Aiden Cornell, and Trevor Cornell. Besides his parents and his wife, Ralph he is predeceased by a brother Gabriel "Bob" Sasso. During his lifetime Ralph worked at the family flower shop Sasso Florist, and in the 1960's started working for Emil J. Nagengast Florist in Albany. Later in his lifetime he worked for Longview Fiber here in Amsterdam, NY where he retired from. He loved going to the Casino's and was an avid gardener, and Yankee Fan.
