Obituary of Charleen A. Wilder

Charleen A. Wilder, 72, of Palatine Bridge, N.Y., passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 16th, 1945 in Amsterdam, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Blanche VanAntwerp and John Stevens. Charleen is a graduate of Gloversville High School Class of 1963. She married Dick Wilder on June 27 1964. It was a beautiful union that lasted until his passing in 2003. Charleen was a very loving and nurturing woman who was very family orientated. She loved being in the outdoors having family picnics, fishing, and gardening. When she wasn't able to be outdoors she enjoyed a variety of activities such as crafting, cooking, and watching scary movies. Charleen, who was also known as "Grannie" to her dear grandchildren especially Kenneth, was genuinely a good person and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Charleen is survived by her children, Kimberly (Allen Barr) Wilder of Palatine Bridge, NY, Dick (Rhonda) Wilder of Florida; her grandchildren, Chad Wilder, Christopher and Kenneth Pawlaczyk, Kayla Wilder, Kristen Howell, and Lucinda Wilder; her siblings Debra Melita, Bonnie Pitt, and Allan Stevens. Several loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Charleen is predeceased by her beloved husband, her dear parents, and her brother Dick Dority. A Funeral Service for Charleen will take place on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 at 7pm at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, N.Y 13317. The family will receive visitors from 4-7pm prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Charleen will be interred next to her husband at Fort Plain Cemetery, 29 Clyde St., Fort Plain, N.Y., and will take place in the spring.
