Obituary of Millard Kenneth Rickard

Millard (Bud) Kenneth Rickard age 92 yrs. went home peacefully into the kingdom of heaven on December 22, 2017. Bud was born in Cobleskill, NY on June 25, 1925 to LeRoy and Mildred Humphrey Rickard. Bud attended school at Fonda-Fultonville. He served in the Army/Air Force as Private First Class from 1943-1950. Bud was employed as a construction worker and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners where he faithfully served God as a deacon for many years. Bud was a lifelong resident of Charleston, NY and spent his winters in Chiefland, Florida for the past 28 years where he was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. Bud was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Rickard and brother, Howard Rickard Sr. He is survived by his wife, Viola Rickard whom he married on January 21, 1950; his two sons, Richard Rickard (Jamie) and Robert Rickard (Amy) both of Charleston, NY; his six daughters, Linda Parker of Glenville, NY, Eris Dersch (Robert) of Charleston, NY, Mandalyn Ahrens (Gary), Donna Coppernoll (Jason), Rita Sweet (David) all of Chiefland, FL, and Rosemarie Kaczor (Jeff) of Charleston, NY; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Eris Appleby of Catskill, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of Bud's life will be held at the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners, 1380 East Lykers Road, Sprakers, NY 12166, on December 29, 2017 at 11 am. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10 to 11 am. A burial in the family plot of the Charleston Four Corners Cemetery will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleston Four Corners Christian Church.
