I met Mary as a resident at RIver RIdge Living Center. I started to go in to check on her and would end up sitting for quite awhile and just talking with her about her life, her husband, John, her children, and esp. her granddaughter, Janet, and her great-grandchildren,Janets' 2 daughters-she loved them all very, very much and bragged how smart the 2 girls were.. She held on through Christmas as not to "spoil" their holiday. We talked about good times in our lives, local people and places we both frequented when we were younger. We both found out that we knew alot of the same people in the area. We shared alot in those conversations-Mary loved to talk. She was a sweet,good-hearted person and I felt like we had been friends for years. I will miss those talks. My thoughts and prayers are with her family now.. She was a very special person. My husband and I met Mary when I was pregnant with my third son. It was while we had first gotten into CB. And had been close friends ever since. I could talk to Mary about anything and I mean anything. We talked on the phone for hours, sometimes for almost 3 hours. Mary helped me through some hard times in my life. Mary was a strong woman and there wasn't a fight she couldn't win. Except for this last one. She gave it her all, right up to the end. Knowing her like I do I am sure she hung on til after Christmas so not to spoil anyone's Christmas. That's Mary, always thinking of others. Well she doesn't have to fight anymore or think of others first. She is with John, Ray and Bill, also with a young lady that she thought of as her daughter, Robin. We miss you Mary until we meet again, if I am lucky enough to be where you are.

Mary was one of the nicest ladies. She lived at Forest Hill Towers and always supported the things that the tenant association did and came to many functions. She loved her little dog Sara and took such good care of her. I personally always enjoyed our conversations as I know others did too. The few months before having to go into the hospital she still wanted to do things but you knew she didn't feel well. She would say "come up and remind me and we'll see how I feel at that minute"
We are gonna miss her, we already do.
