Obituary of Kathaleen A. Schaufelberg

Kathaleen A. Schaufelberg, 87, of Amsterdam, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with her loving family at her side. Born in West Forks, Maine on January 20, 1929 a daughter of the late Bert and Marion Merrill Morris. She attended Colby Prep School and later Boston Technical School. Kathaleen was employed for many years as an X-Ray Technician at the former Amsterdam Memorial Hospital and also worked for Dr. Button. She was an active member of the Florida Reformed Church for many years and was an officer for the Labora Club. Kathaleen married her husband Robert Sr. in September of 1949. He passed away on March 15, 1985. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Louis) Noto of Amsterdam and Kathy (Bruce) Miller of New Hampshire. Her cherished grandchildren, Tamara (Bill) Courtney, Jennifer (Fred Dallesandro) Fritz , Kimberly(Greg) Fiske, Kyle and Angela Schaufelberg. Three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kianna and Sasha. Daughter-in-law, Debi Schaufelberg of Illinois. Special friends, Grace and Harry Bylebyl and Family. Siblings, Muriel Morris and George Morris. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her son Robert Schaufelberg Jr., and siblings, Mary Morris Knowles, Jeanette Hemmer, Marjorie Towne and Gerald Morris. Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Charles Hesselink presiding. Interment will be in the spring in Chuctanunda Cemetery, Minaville, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday prior to the funeral service from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
