Obituary of Barbara J. Cintron
Mrs. Barbara J. Cintron, 71, of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, 2022. Born in Gloversville, NY August 16, 1951 she was the daughter of the late David Lawton and Ethel (Quandt) Carpenter.
A lifelong area resident, Barbara was a graduate of Gloversville High School and attended Business College. She was employed for the Schenectady School District, Centro Civico and lastly, Rite Aid.
Barbara was a woman of great faith and surrounded herself with very special people. She was also the life of any party and was always the girl “on fire.” Her zest for life will always be remembered and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Jamie (Jodi) Calhoun, Stacy Cintron, Teresa (Mike) DiMatteo, Elizabeth (Scott) Jasper, Priscila Cintron; her siblings, Carol (Mike) Carmona, Robyn Bergh, Debbie Lawton, Charles (Jessica) Carpenter; two aunts, Janice St. Peter and Gloria Quandt; one uncle, Richard Quandt; two lifelong friends, Sonia Casella and Karen Kelly; her former husband, Luis Cintron; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 12p.m. at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Calling hours will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY.
