Obituary of Robert Sargalis

Mr. Robert Sargalis, 75, of Albany Bush Road, in Johnstown, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on October 12, 1945, he was the son of Genevieve and John Sargalis.

Robert attended a one-room schoolhouse during his elementary education until its closing, then attending Fonda-Fultonville School. Robert was a farmer all his life, owning and operating Sargalis Farms. He loved the work that he did. Robert was united in matrimony to Ms. Barbara Jean Thompson on June 6, 1966. They remained lovingly married until her passing on January 18, 2017.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Robert was predeceased by his brother, Bernard; and parents Genevieve and John.

He is survived by his loving children, Bobbi Lee (Lyman) White and Richard (Stacey) Sargalis; and his siblings, David Sargalis, Patricia (Jim) Petteys, Arleen (Eugene) Burgess, Kathleen (Barney) Yurkewecz and Janet (Mike) Zilka. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Joshua and Nicholas White and Wyatt and Reed Sargalis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at St Casimir's Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.
